Project Overview

Every great home starts from the ground up—and in this case, the driveway set the tone. For this new construction project, our team was brought in to design and build a concrete driveway that was not only wide enough for a double garage but also spanned the full front of the home, creating a strong and seamless transition from the street.

The biggest challenge? Elevation. The home sat noticeably higher than the street level, which meant the slope had to be carefully engineered for both safety and comfort.

Precision Grading & Drainage

Our first step was grading the site to achieve the proper slope—steep enough to manage runoff and align with the garage slab, but gentle enough to be practical for daily use. We also accounted for water flow around the home’s foundation ensuring proper drainage according to EPA stormwater management guidelines. This Ensuries the driveway would direct stormwater away from the house and avoid pooling at the curb.

We used laser levels and string lines throughout the layout and formwork process to guarantee a smooth, consistent pitch from top to bottom.

Formwork & Reinforcement

Given the width and load-bearing needs of the driveway, formwork and reinforcement were critical. We poured a thick concrete slab with rebar reinforcement throughout to prevent cracking and shifting over time. Expansion joints were placed strategically to accommodate natural movement and maintain a clean appearance.

The formwork was also designed to give the driveway crisp edges and a professional finish that matched the home’s clean architectural lines.

Finishing Touches

We finished the surface with a light broom texture—providing slip resistance without sacrificing visual appeal. The driveway edges were neatly squared to match the geometry of the house and walkway, and we ensured the finish tied seamlessly into the front entry and garage.

Because the driveway stretches the full width of the house, it adds visual balance and a strong sense of arrival to the property. It’s more than just a path for vehicles—it’s a major part of the home’s curb appeal.

The Result

The result is a solid, wide-set driveway that’s built to perform and designed to impress. It solves the site’s elevation challenges, enhances drainage, and gives the new home a polished, ready-for-move-in look.

Whether it’s supporting the weight of vehicles or boosting the property’s first impression, this driveway does it all—with clean lines, structural integrity, and long-term durability.
