Project Overview

This project was all about creating an escape—right in the client’s backyard. With a vision that combined modern architecture and tropical vibes, we built a multi-functional outdoor living area anchored by a luxury cabana, a sleek pergola, and a beautifully finished landscape to tie it all together.

At the heart of the project was a new, purpose-built concrete foundation—engineered to support both the pergola and the cabana while maintaining clean lines and long-term stability. Every inch was designed to feel intentional, relaxing, and built to impress.

Foundation First: Building on Solid Ground

We began by forming and pouring a reinforced concrete slab to support the cabana and pergola. The foundation was not only structural—it was architectural. We took care to ensure precise elevations, crisp edges, and a finish that would disappear underfoot while standing up to the demands of the elements and heavy use.

Grading was essential, especially near the pool and artificial turf zones, to ensure water would drain away cleanly from structures and landscaped areas.

The Cabana: Modern Comfort, Tropical Soul

The cabana was the crown jewel of this space. Built with a sleek standing seam metal roof, recessed lighting, and tongue-and-groove ceiling details, it balanced a refined, contemporary feel with a sense of warmth and relaxation.

Inside, the cabana featured a fully enclosed modern restroom and shower—perfect for pool days or guests. A built-in outdoor kitchen added functionality, with custom stonework that tied into the surrounding hardscape. Every detail was built with durability in mind, but styled to feel like a high-end resort.

We coordinated closely with electricians and plumbers to seamlessly integrate lighting, ventilation, and fixtures into the structure without compromising aesthetics.

Pergola & Outdoor Flow

Adjacent to the cabana, we installed a modern pergola on a matching slab—a structural and visual complement that expanded the use of the space. It creates a shaded lounge or dining zone, further blurring the line between indoors and out.

Both structures were placed to maintain open views across the pool and garden, while giving the client multiple ways to use the space depending on the time of day or gathering size.

Artificial Turf & Landscape Detailing

To soften the space and reduce maintenance, we installed a lush artificial turf area by the pool—perfect for barefoot comfort and a pop of year-round green. This low-maintenance surface pairs beautifully with the tropical plantings and adds a resort-like touch to the space.

We added strategically placed steel planters throughout the landscape to give height, contrast, and structure to the softscape. New plantings included tropical and modern selections designed for visual impact and long-term performance in the local climate.

The Result

The finished space is equal parts luxury and livability: a private backyard escape with the features of a full resort. From the rock-solid foundation to the refined finishes and lush landscape, this project showcases how design, craftsmanship, and creativity can completely transform an outdoor environment.

Whether entertaining guests, enjoying a quiet evening, or simply stepping out of the pool, every element of this build invites comfort, style, and ease.
